Jessica Ballard, President of Micah Speaks Kid Camp, founded this organization to help parents like herself and children like her son Micah. Micah has received speech and occupational therapy since the age of 2 years old. He is enrolled in special education classes, speech, and occupational therapy services at school. Jessica felt that Micah could be much further along if he could receive more services while school is in and out of session. So Jessica came up with a plan to help Micah and others in the same situation. Jessica started the non-profit to the kids that could not get on the waiting list to get a medical diagnosis for Autism due to the extensive waiting period of 12 months in her state Louisiana. The camp is designed for all children and offers services for those with special needs such as developmental delay, mild autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, and more. Jessica, President, wants to change lives and watch the children make strides to achieve all of their academic goals and have fun while doing so. Jessica came up with a 6 week summer camp program that involves speech therapy, occupational therapy, arts & crafts, and fun field trips. While school is in session, Jessica established an after school program to keep the children engaged, motivated, and to assist with overall academic achievement. Micah Speaks Kid Camp is the best place all children with a learning curve to thrive.
